I mainly focus on painting patterns while I paint these. I realised that I need to use this time to experiment and doodle more often, that it is okay to make mistakes, as that is the best way to learn. Enjoy looking through the paintings. In summer I always automatically become lazy and uninspired for a month, so I have had a bit of a break with this website. Now that the inspiration has returned I’ve decided to post a number of doodles I’ve made during the summer. While I doodled I was listening to an audio book “Kingkiller Chronicles” by Patrick Rothfuss, so I found it really helped me zone out and not think too much about what I was doing with the pen. Now that I have to wait a while for the third book to come out I have no clue what to listen to next, my doodles have become way too over thought out, if anyone has any recommendations leave a comment.
As you may be able to tell these are all drawn with felt tip pen and a brush pen. I’m not describing them, as they were all technically drawn by my subconscious. Let me know what you think!
For this weeks challenge I have an unfinished piece I never want to look at again. I started off motivated, but I started working on a drawing for a friends birthday present, by the time I got back to the drawing I went crazy from just looking at it. Even today when I decided it was finished I feel completely artistically drained, though I started the day feeling optimistic and driven to work all day.
I used a lot of pen, a little bit of Indian ink and watercolours. Some parts of the drawing are just scribbles because I lost all patience with drawing plants. It might be because in my challenge last week I was also drawing plants, so I now never want to see another plant again.
I decide to only colour the flowers and didn’t colour the leaves because I wanted to make sure the main focus is on the center. Hopefully next week will be better. I may do a digital drawing next week because the theme will be Pastel. I don’t have any pastels, so I will use pastel colours in the drawing I am yet to decide on.

For this week I spent way too long on my challenge so I’m a bit late posting it. The challenge was “Garden”, which is annoying because my challenge for next week is Botanical… That’s like the same thing right?
Anyway I’ve been thinking that because I am about 8 weeks behind everyone else who is doing the 52 week challenge I was thinking I might do 2 challenges a week for a little while. I will still call them weekly challenges on my blog though.
Before I started working on this weeks challenge I found really good paper I used in University, so I decided to work a little bit more large scale. I chose a photo I took in my great aunts garden, spent ages penciling the outlines, then drawing over them with felt tip pen. I then used my promarkers to colour in the main parts of the drawing. The patio tiles were coloured with my plain old regular markers.
I would really appreciate it if you left a like, followed me or even shared this post!
