Inktober 2018 Part 2

There’s something really exciting about working with only black ink. It gives you a lot of freedom in some areas, but restricts you in other areas. I know I work with watercolours most of the time, but I would really love to introduce a bit more ink to my work.
My favorite out of all these images is the Dragon. While I painted it I was listening to Robin Hobbs “Assassins Quest” and of course there are dragons in that story. Less than a month later I’m now on the final book of the second trilogy. Her books are so addictive, I really recommend the read.

Week 2: Feathered Animals

For this week my challenge was to make an illustration of Feathered Animals. I have a really bad migraine today, so looking at my computer kind of hurts so I won’t ramble too much. It’s a good thing I finished the illustration a few days ago, this migraine makes it hard to do anything.

The blue bird was made from pens and markers and the background is a photograph of a sunset I took a while back, with Photoshop filters to make it look more painterly. The first photo is the original and the second is the completed illustration. Let me know what you think. Leave a like and follow me!
