Mandalas

I’ve been way too busy to draw and post regularly, so here are a few mandalas I made a few months ago. I will get back into posting more often in a week. Making mandalas is so good for mindfulness practice and very therapeutic, I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Week 1: Whimsy

Wizard of Whimsy, Photoshop and ink.

I googled the word whimsy and read it over and over again, still don’t know the real meaning behind it. I just got that it means quaint or something. Anyway I took my own meaning to it and applied it to my art by just drawing what popped into my head. Its a wizard staring into a colourful orb. I’m not superstitious, but it’s nice to think of creativity as a magical link in the mind to some other world, that’s what this art work means to me anyway. It was made from a pen drawing originally, I drew it from my mind, though I did slightly copied Gandalfs hat with a few alterations. After I drew it, the drawing was scanned and I coloured it in on Photoshop. I’m really enjoying learning new more about digital art, but it doesn’t seem to be getting as much of a response as my traditional art. I still want to improve my skills on Photoshop regardless of what people prefer.

Enough rambling. Let me know what you think! Leave a like and follow!
