Inktober 2018 Part 3

The rest of the paintings for Inktober 2018. I learned a lot during this challenge, but also found that I have much more to learn. I find working with ink to be so exciting, despite the mess I sometimes managed to make. I’m looking forward to doing it again next year.
This week I sent three of my inktober paintings to the Galway Art Centre for their open art exhibition. I am very excited to see how that turns out. I would also like to mention that I will be selling art at a stall at the Creeslough craft fair on Sunday the 25th of November. I’m hoping to sell some of my watercolour and ink paintings, digital prints, doodles and Christmas cards. For more information email me; inkyandthepen@gmail.com!

Inktober 2018 Part 2

There’s something really exciting about working with only black ink. It gives you a lot of freedom in some areas, but restricts you in other areas. I know I work with watercolours most of the time, but I would really love to introduce a bit more ink to my work.
My favorite out of all these images is the Dragon. While I painted it I was listening to Robin Hobbs “Assassins Quest” and of course there are dragons in that story. Less than a month later I’m now on the final book of the second trilogy. Her books are so addictive, I really recommend the read.

100 Days of Paint: Days 31-40

I have been posting so much paintings on instagram that I have barely posted anything on this website. Definitely going to attempt to post more regularly. I need to set up an inktober blog too.

While I was doing these paintings I started to consider doing surface pattern designs. I have worked on a few things on photoshop, but have many more things to learn.

Have a look at my paintings, like them, share them, follow me and let me know if you would like to set up a commission!

Doodles #1

I’m a little bit under the weather today so instead of typing up some big blog, I’m just posting a few doodles from over the years. They are in no particular order and some literally make no sense.

Enjoy!
